Hello, I just passed 12th in science from india with 81% marks looking for higher studies in Canada want some advice related to that.
1. What is SDS or Non SDS
2. What should I go for, college program or university program
3. Which duration course is better ( 2yr / 3yr diploma or 4yr bachelors )
4. Which stream / program is in demand ( eg:- Cybersecurity, IT, Computer science, Artificial intelligence, Nanotechnology)
5. Which program / stream has best path to PR
6. I looked at Canada.ca website for the SDS program and came to know that fees for the first year has to be deposited before submitting the visa paper, is the fees refundable if study permit is denied
7. Can u please tell the best colleges/ universities for computer science engineering and the eligibility criteria for universities and college ( eg: how much IELTS score is required, Is SAT important to give, what are the prerequisites to be in university or college)
8. Kindly please also guide about the scholarships
9. Difference between express entry and PNP
10. What is the point criteria system ( eg: how we can attain points, what is the min point score in British Columbia)
11. What is the work permit after 2yr course, 3yr course and 4yr course

1. SDS is Student Direct Stream. Indian applicants who can show sufficient funds and other documents upfront can apply through SDS for faster processing.

2. University programs are longer and more theoretical. College programs are shorter and more technical in nature. Either can provide opportunities for career advancement if you take them.

3. A three or four year bachelor's degree is generally better to have than a 2 year diploma.

4. You can look up in-demand occupations in Canada yourself.

5. Anything that might set you up to get a skilled job after graduation.

6. The point of SDS is to provide faster processing in exchange for you showing you are lower risk and can already pay all of your fees. Refund policies are set by individual schools. Generally you should not expect to get all of your money back if refused.

7. You can also look up programs and their admission requirements yourself. You don't need to take the SAT, and should aim for at least IELTS band 6.

8. Scholarships are generally very limited for international students.

9. A provincial nomination allows you to bypass the Express Entry points pool and apply directly for PR.

10. The requirements for Express Entry are the same in every province. You need at least a year of skilled work experience to be eligible. You can estimate your score here. The current cutoff is around 470.

11. Any course of more than two years makes you eligible for a three year work permit, if you meet the other requirements such as studying continuously at an approved school.
