A work experience and proof of funds issue I need advice on for a friend

I'm helping a friend with an application and it's come across some issues.

She's a nurse and her job doesn't want her to leave so they are giving her issues with the work letter. It doesn't have in her duties. Also she worked there from December and has copies of her pay cheques to prove that but they wrote she worked there from April because that's when they started paying her social insurance. Could writing a cover letter help in this instance.

Proof of funds issues. She has more than enough money saved but it's a joint account with her mother and she can't get her name off in time to send the app before the December 31st cut off. Can a letter from her mother help. I don't know what to tell her to do. I need some urgent advice

The funds have to be in her name only. CIC will not accept a bank account that is joint with her mother. Having a letter won't help. She needs to move the funds into an account that is in her name only.
