Hi everyone!
Thanks a lot to all the forum members who have been so cooperative and helpful throughout the immigration process.
Special Thanks to Qorax, Nectar, Biju.
I haven't updated you people on my current status so first things first.
I received a letter from High commission to submit passport copies (Step 1 letter for Pakistani applicant).
I found through the forum that it takes 4 to 8 months to get step 2 letter. My medical was expiring in nov 2011. I didn't have that much time.
What i had was a valid UK Visa. I took my family along and we reached UK on Wednesday 7th September. On 8th (Thursday) i went to submit passports (rather check if i could actually submit passports there or not).
They told me to wait for a while. Called the Visa Officer, gave him my file number and asked him if i could submit my passports here. He said i could as my file had not yet been transferred back to Islamabad office for visa issuance. They took the passports, gave me a receipt and told to collect passports on next Thursday (22nd September). I went there yesterday (on 15th, as i read on forum that they usually stamp visas within a week).
By the grace of God, my passports were ready for collection.
I am happy.
Going to Canada next week.
