A question regarding the passport expiry.....and OINP application

Hello everyone,

I submitted my OINP application in mid february 2016 but, my passport is expiring next year in 3rd week of march i.e.2017. So when I submitted my application in february 2016 my passport was still valid for 13 months and the Indian embassy doesn't renew the passport until it has an expiry of less the an year left. So, while submitting the application in february I just submitted my old passport copies but i forgot to include a LOE. Though I will be applying for my new passport next week but, my concern is will OINP reject/return my application just because I forgot to include a LOE at the time of submitting my application??

Any kind of help or answers or suggestions to this would be much appreciated.Thanks

You can try sending an email to OINP explaining this situation and mention the date of application receipt. See if they can help you.

I will try sending them an email for sure but, just wanted to know is it a major issue that they might return my application package and I haven't applied for my new passport yet. I will be applying for it next week though.

It's not a major issue. Many Indian applicants to OINP have also been in the same situation and got nominated eventually.
