thank you so much, this clarifies a lot for me! this process is such a headache, I cannot believe it. I really hope that after this delay with my FBI clearance, everything downstream of here goes smoothly for us! Thanks!

I just wanted to let everyone know what the FBI told me when I called their customer service line (thanks for the number!).
They said that they had received it and it's in progress, and since it's been over the 10-week processing time, it's been moved to top priority, but they couldn't tell me much more than that. I'm frustrated, but I am also happy to know that it is there and in their system. I will call again at the end of the week. I am wondering now if the delay might have something to do with my recently changing my name (when I got married a year ago). Not sure.
