hey guys
so this new tfw issue going on ... will it effect the CEC applications of folks who have already applied.
Cos u know anything can happen with CIC etc .. they change rules as fast as changing clothes ..

In my opinion, it will affect those who have not found their jobs in Canada much more than those who have jobs already.
Who could possibly know what will happen..

I would expect this to have the biggest impact on new hopefulls, who would look towards Canada and temporary employment. The key issues they will try to address is cheap labor...not necessarily immigration itself. I presume that programs like IEC will remain unchanged (main purpose being experience/exchange), while the rules for temporary work permits to be affected. Its a matter of hiring employees willing to work for lower wages vs. protecting the wage standard, and thus revenue and canadian jobs.

So, me personally, I dont think it will impact CEC, FSW or any other stream, but will change regulations for temporary work permits (new).

Crux

Going forward, temporary work permit issuance will be governed by stricter rules. It goes without saying, when temp. workers gaining entry into Canada will be less, applicants applying for CEC will also drastically fall. No Canadian experience, no Canadian Experience Class.

Damn I more worried cos I just took a chance with applying for a bowp even though I don't have a job right now cos I was laid off in sep last year.
I hope they wont put my application on the watchlist category

Maybe so. But, the impact will be localized....not directly impact the CEC stream. It will affect the volume of CEC applicants, but not the regulations necessarily - at least not for those that have already applied or for the next little while.

I think this will not have any effect on CEC program and BOWP visa.

This intends to address mainly ICT.

It makes sense, if local people are available why hire foreigners for the same job.

Govt. may look deeply into ICT and how they bring foreign workers and how long they stay.

Thanks cec 2013
hope things work out.. ive been thru too much trials just to be where I am today
don't want to give it all away cos some bank here decided to hire 40 people from another country and kick off Canadians ...which is super stupid cos I don't get the logic.. if ur hiring people from out and making Canadians train them .. then y not retrain Canadians and make them do a better job ... crap logic

Ya, I'm not worried too much. Especially now that its under a public microscope, they will take their time to get it right. But, I completed agree with you. Its unthinkable to me that an employer would do such a thing. I work in a highly regulated field and cant fathom the kind of things these guys went through.

Anyways, just be patient and keep believing that our day will come. :)
