First I would like to introduce myself. I am Richard, a 23 year old Software Engineer working in the Defense Industry in England, and would of course love to emmigrate to Canada on a skilled worker visa.

I have a couple of questions I have been looking for the answer to for some time.

1. I get married in November 2009, and would like to put my spouse on the visa application, however I am also aware how long it can take to process a visa application. So, bareing these facts in mind should I be applying for a job in Canada now as it could take a year to get processed, or should I not start anything until I am married.

2. Hypothetically if I received permanent resident status (i.e. my skilled worked visa application was accepted) does this allow my spouse to apply for a job in Canada or does she have too apply for a separate work permit?

I apologise in advance if these questions have already been answered, but I'm sure people on these forums are used to responding to the same questions several times.

for me november 2009 is faraway and if i were you i'll apply now and update my application anytime changes appeared.

good luck.
