My parents have been given 90 days extension of TRV after they crossed the border for shopping.

Mom and dad were frightened because the immigration officer told them that they are illegal and how come they are for a year now because they came to Canada on September 2012.

They went to San Francisco in August 2013 and back in September 2013. At that time their 2nd extension visa was still valid until Oct 2013. We thought theyd be given 6 mos stamp but didnt realized til at the border that visa is expired 5 days already.

Officer asked for ticket back to home country which they were able to present so they were given 90 days extension.

Conditions infront of the document states:

Must leave Canada by January 2, 2014
Must furnish proof of compliance on January 2, 2014 at Vancouver International Airport

REMARKS : Must confirm departure at the Vancouver International Airport.

My question is, can i apply for their extension or just leave Canada and return? Pls help

No more extensions allowed - they are not really visiting are they now! If they don't show up at the airport and confirm their departure with CBSA they will have major issues..make sure they ask/ go to the CBSA office at the aiport after check in. Once they leave they should not come back for some time I'd say at least 6 months preferably more...go the super visa route next time as you will get a 2 year visa if approved.
