I have more than 6 years gap in the study, do I qualify to apply under SPP?

Hello Friend,
Profile:
MBA(Finance) from UK (2011) I was there until 2014, came back to India 2014 since then I am working as BDM. its been 6 years gap for study. I am looking for Student visa CANADA. IELTS 6.5 (L-7, SWR - 6)

I just called my consultant. He was telling me that I am not eligible for SPP program as I have more than 5 years of gap in the study. He was telling me to try for NON-SPP institute, intake JAN as all the formalities for SEP intake is over.

He was also telling me that I do not need any financial documents except IT return and 1-semester fee and GIC. But when I am looking for NON-SPP checklist they asking for provide bank statement as well plus proof of finance.

Is it true that NON-SPP does not require any financial documents? I am on this forum for a long time and most of the time visa got rejected due to poor finance. I read lots of case in this forum.

SPP will not work for me? he was telling me you will get 100% rejection if you do so.

Please guide me I need some expert advice.

Thank you.

Hey man!

See let me be very clear with you.

1. You are an MBA-FIN from UK-11 - This is Fine

2. 2011-2014 - Any relevant reason what you did there for 3 years

3. 2014-Current - BDM- Looks fine... (If you can show work experience + salary statement)

4. Non-SPP - No need to show financial proof if you can submit gic and college fees at the upfront.

5. SOP- A very strong sop will be required. I say again very strong sop.. every reason to be mentioned from academics to your employment and why you want to study now.

6. SPP - Agent said right you won't be allowed to submit under spp as you have 5years plus time. (GAP is when you are doing nothing)

I recommend you to kindly choose your course wisely because you are an MBA already. try to choose some university...

Rest you are also eligible for express entry program i suggest you try your hands on ee.

Hi Man,

Thank you for your reply,

Point 2. I was doing the job as Buyer/Admin office for the period 2011-14.

Can I choose NON-SPP program but choose the colleges listed in SPP category for PG course?

Thank you

Anytime bro!

Point 2: Just attach the proof that you were actually working.

And I must suggest you must choose the university...

Doesn't matter as you will have to apply under general category or university. As you are not eligible to apply under spp.

Man, Agent pushes me to get admission in University but actually the fees of uni. makes me think twice.
what would be the risk factor if I opt college instead of Uni. and PG course?

Please choose universities from Manitoba or Saskatchewan province as they are comparatively very cheaper than others.

And choosing these provinces will give you the higher chances of getting visa...

The only problem is that you are graduated in 2011 and it will be difficult to convince embassy that you are going there only to study and you will come back.

Rest you can choose college but choose your wisely.

PS: Do you own research too.
