6 Months Passport Validity Rule - CANADA

Hi Experts,

Does Canada have a 6-Months Passport Validity Rule?

We already received our COPR and planning to leave next year Feb 1, 2016 but my daughters passport will expire July 1, 2016(5 months left). Do you think we will get into trouble for this? In my opinion and research, this wouldn't be an issue since we already have a COPR but I need proof (official link from cic perhaps) in any case this issue would arise. Anyone? Please help.

why not renew it? you can renew your passport anytime if expire is under 1 year. be safe and travel without any worry or tensions
