In this question it asks length of relationship in a previous marriage. I was legally married from 2008-2013 but seperated since 2009. Also the relationship obviously started before we got married. What dates do you fill in? I filled in the dates that the relationship lasted 2007-2009 and then on a seperate paper wrote the length of the marriage (2008-2013) and commented that we were seperated since 2009. What do you think?

Any advice?

Yes...be patient. It's only been an hour since you posted your question. ;)

Personally, I think your plan to include the short letter is great.

Key words are "length of relationship" I think its the time of the whole relationship. Very good idea to write on a separate paper. I have actually done the same wrote it as a self declaration explaining any possible discrepancies in the application and any other documents that I have submitted.

That's the gray area for me. Length of relationship to me means how long you were with that person not how long you were technically married. We were divorced after 5 years but hadn't been in a "relationship" for 4 years before that.
