5 year Misrep Ban

This question is for my friend.

Her brother wanted to come on a visitors visa to Canada. From what I understand a fake bank statement was provided by the agent in middle east where he is coming from.

They received a letter asking why fraudulent documents where included in the file, they didnt reply back to that letter. He ended up getting a 5 year ban.

If he were to get married to a canadian citizen would this misrep ban be removed. I told her to forget about him coming and just wait out the ban.

Ok thanks I'll let her know. Some "agent" here in canada said if the brother is sponsored as a spouse the ban can get removed. Trying to convince her to not spend any more money on this and just wait everything out.....

He is banned. Only work with an immigration lawyer.

Would add after the ban he should expect additional scrutiny for any future applications. If for example he does marry a Canadian he should have significant in person relationship history.
