Friends, I am going for 5 weeks vacation in July and I applied for citizenship in April. I read somewhere that I have to inform them.
How early I should inform them and how? Is there an email address?

Call CIC just a day or two before you leave and give them your return date..

In the case if your file has reached the Local Office then you will have to draft a letter and inform them of your vacation days...

Do we need to inform them for 1-week vacation?

Is there an official guideline to this? Ie CIC website...

Thanks guys.

No need to inform if you are absent up to 2 weeks. Also you don't need to write a letter if you are absent less than 60 days even file reached to local office. Phone call notification is fine..

sounds good.. Thanks guys..

this is for people who don't have anyone to check their mails when on vacation. In case you have someone checking your mails and you check your ecase online then I don't think it is necessary to inform as it can unnecessary delay your file. The officer can park your file and get busy with other files in queue.

I wouldn't notify at all if you have someone to check your email.
