Hello forum member,I am a college teacher (Agriculture STUDIES lecturer) from Bangladesh. It is an
intermediate (HSC) college( 11 & 12 class ).Visa officer wrote to me that my college is equivalent to secondary
school in CANADA. For this reason i am not eligible. But i know about lots of applicants(English Lecturer) who have
got canada visa , though they used to do job at intermediate college. My question is, is there any different
between English Lecturer & Agriculture Studies Lecturer? Please give me suggestions what can i do now?

Sorry to hear that,

Could you please stop adding new subjects for new discussions, keep on one topic so that everyone could post in his/her comments and try to help you.

thanks for understanding,

you have known that you are not eligible with the stated reason..

then focus on the solution, HOW TO BE ELIGIBLE topics and standards of the Canadian system, you can verify infos on their website.. then focus on how to acquire eligibilities, yes comparing wont help you bec its a case to case basis, important is to focus on the factors stated to be eligible..

then if you need to apply again do so.. never give up, patience, determination and wisdom.. every experience is a learning process and will get you to where you want to be placed...

goodluck.. ;)

Intermediate(HSC) = high school and is the equivalent of secondary school in Canada. I think you chose the wrong NOC code. From the NOC 2006 list, code 4131 is for "college and other vocational instructors". The visa officer's reason for refusal suggests, the outcome may have been different had you used the right code, 4141 for "secondary school teachers".

It is important to pay attention to your main duties and responsibilities and the education credentials required to do the job when choosing a NOC code.

You may fill out the form again using the right code and write a letter for reconsideration. It may not work, but at least you know what to do if you need to re-apply. Note that the code for secondary school teachers is 4031 on the NOC 2011 list.

Except the Secondary School teachers, 4141 have never been on the "list"

You only have two choices:

1) Appeal your refusal to the Federal Court of Canada. You will need a Canadian lawyer to handle this appeal for you. Expect it to cost $3K to $5K.

2) Apply for PR again from scratch (from the beginning) if you qualify under the current rules.

These are your only choices.
