Hi Guys,

I have asked before about if 4 Semesters of Academic Study (Continous) (Jan 2009-May 2010) Would give me 3 Years of Post Graduate Work Permit??

I just wanna make sure about this!! because on the CIC Website they said if you complete for example 8 months of study you would get 8 months of work Permit not one year! so I am afraid that 16 months of studying would give me 16 months of work permit not 3 years as I havent completed the 2 years period.

Please from ppl having experience in this help me.

Thanks

4 semesters are = 2 years

16 month is consider 2 years u will get 3 years of Work permit

16 months means 16 month of continuous Education, its more depends on university or institute where u r going to study in some Places there is A summer Gap and some place there is not.but in any case u should make sure that ur Concern Study program should be in length of 2 years.
e.g if u complete 2 years program in 3 years then still it consider 2 years program...

So If I got a letter that states clearly that I completed 4 Semesters or More I would take 3 years Work Permit??? Regardless if the spent period was 16 months? (My Program is a Research M.A.Sc Program and it doesn't have a specific time the Program Might go up to 4 years)!?

what is the length of ur Program...it is clearly mention on the letter

if its written 4 semester or 2 years both have a same meaning

The Program Starts with 1 year of courses followed by a Research Work that could go up to 3 Years (MAX. 4 Years). There is no specific clear length for the program. thats why I am asking if 4 semesters or 5 semesters of continous work with a paper that mention that the program length could go up to 4 years would satisfy the condition of taking 3 years of work permit

Buddy in this case,i dont have less knowledge about Research work,i am not sure and i dont wanna misguide u but wait for Other Members Response like LEON,PMM they will guide u better in this case

Sorry :(

Thank You Buddy..

Noting that I am considered as a full time student during all semesters so the question basically (If I got a letter from the university Stating that I have completed 4 Semesters (Jan 2009-May 2010) or could be 5 (Jan 2009 - Aug 2010)) Would I guarantee a 3 years work permit.

Waiting the experts reply.

send PM to LEON and PMM they will answer ur queries
