4 photos or 8 photos needed w/ application???

My husband only took 4 photos cause I only saw that he needed 4 photos with the application, can someone clarify this???

Appendix A document checklist says 4 photos...but i'm seeing someone saying you need 8 photos??

Appendix A for West Europe states 8 photos are required, which might be why you've seen people make reference to that. I'm assuming you're using a different region-specific guide that asks for 4 photos? Definitely follow the directions shown on the checklist you're using.

It's weird that the requirements differ for that. You can see how it the checklist requirements have to differ for things like identity and status documents and such, but it's funny how they require so few photos of Americans compared to, say, the Japanese.

Part of the difference is that countries like Japan, Singapore (non-residents), Mexico, etc need to send you a letter requesting a Police Certificate from the local authorities so they need more photos for additional steps
