Hi All,

Wish you all a Happy New Year.

Appreciate if the forum members can help me on the below queries

1) Is there any news on the immigration rules for 2014 (opening May 2014)?

2) Is there any advantage of using the assistance of a legal firm for immigration? I know there is no advantage from the CIC front but generally any other advantage where they ensure that all the documents are in place, etc?

3) NOC: My current job designation does not match with the NOC mention designation? However the job description does match? Is this a concern?

I heard a rumor that they will accept applications based on country of origin, similar with USA visa lottery program. If the previous year a certain country sent enough immigrants in, that country will not be allowed to send applications. So countries like India, Pakistan, Phipillines , etc will not be allowed while, others like Austria, Chile, or Denmark will be encouraged to apply. Great idea if you ask me.

Always here to help.

No - this isn't what CIC is planning at all. CIC has already publicly stated what is planned here:

This process is in no way similar to the USA's lottery. It's similar to Australia's EOI program.

Does this mean they will not invite application in 2014?

There shall not be any FSWP in 2014 but instead CIC will be introducing EOI system in January 2015.

Pls follow CIC website regularly for updates on EOI system.

I do not have much experience in this forum, however, I have been following this question (across multiple topics) and so far the only real conclusion is that nobody knows if there will be a FSWP 2014 or not. I am hoping there is...

Worst case, you are mostly ready for the EOI in 2015.
