Hi, I have summited application under common in law sponsorship in June 1,2012. CIC stared processing in nov 22,2012. Done medical exam in Nov 29,2012. Received a process completed letter in Mar 27,2013. After I received the letter, I checked CIC website status it shown decision has been made. But I didn't receive any news ever since that. I contacted CIC 5 months ago they told me my medical was expired so I do another Medical exam in March 2014. I recently contacted with CIC n they r still processing my application. N now CIC online status is shown in process. I'm just wondering if any of u guys (2012 inland spousal sponsorship applicant) has been waiting for more than 2 yrs?

My open work permit is expired. I'm planning to extend it. But on the checklist there's a statutory declaration of common in law union form. Does anybody know what that is? Do I must to send the form in order to extend OWP?

if you are beyond the normal processing time, my suggestion would be to contact the sponsor's member of parliament (MP). When an MP inquires about a file, CIC MUST respond within a certain amount of time (i think it might be 5 days). The MP *may* be able to learn what the hold up is. Also, have you considered ordering electronic case notes to see if any concerns are mentioned?

Thanks for providing this information. I appreciate. Just have a question about MP. How do you find a MP? My spouse doesn't know any Mp? :'( and How do you order electronic case notes?

to find the sponsor's MP, try googling something like "how to find my member of parliament in canada (or the province)". every canadian citizen is represented by an MP, they just need to find the one who represents the area they live in.

To order case notes, go here and follow the directions. The sponsor needs to order them through the "Access to Information" act, and get the applicant to sign a consent form to release their information. If you look up the member on this forum named "User828", there will be a link to a you tube video that explains how to apply.
