Hi,

I'm planning on going to Canada on around September 13th, 2019. I'm just starting the application process, and I have two main questions:

1. Is it enough time for processing if I submit documents in the next 2 weeks?
2. I live in the UK but I am an international student and my residency expires expires in January, 2020. On the document checklist it simply states to provide: Proof of Status. Original ILR card or other proof of resident status in the UK, this should be valid for more than 6 months after your return from Canada.
However, VisaHQ website says: Proof of Status. Original ILR card or other proof of resident status in the UK, this should be valid for more than 6 months after your return from Canada.
I'm worried because it would only be valid 4 months after my return from Canada.

Your advice is much appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Based on the Guru's here they would advise that you allot 3 months before your preferred date of departure. As sometimes the estimate numbers of days on https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...vices/application/check-processing-times.html are not followed due to the influx of applications. Plus, sometimes you can't right away get a schedule on the Canada Visitor Application Centre for Biometrics.
There are cases where in the preferred date of departure already passed and no decision yet as the status of the TRV is still processing.

It already says valid for more than 6 months. It might be risky as you are an International Student with soon to expire residency (your ties to UK) . It might be hard to convince the visa officer that you have no intentions to stay in Canada.
