I'm a little bit deflated here. My husband and I sent his application in May 2013. They started processing his application December 2013. They asked us to pay the RPRF in January. In February they asked for an update to his Schedule A and Travel documents and then nothing. We were soooo excited when they asked for the fee so we thought we're almost done. But now nothing.

I've tried sending an email and calling but I can't seem to get any answers.

I'm here alone with our 13 month daughter and working full time as a health care worker. I don't know how long I can keep this up.
Does anyone know how I can speed up the process? At this point the 2 of us just want an answer yes or no so we can make long term plans.

Does anyone have any experience with MP? Can they help?
Thanks for your time

Where is your partner from? What is his visa office? When was your file transferred from Mississauga to the VO?

There is no way to speed up your app. An MP can inquire about the status of an app but cannot influence the actual processing.

My husband is from Tunisia and his application is in Paris being processed. So the MP can call and they will tell him its in process like what I see online? or can he get more detailed information than just in process?
Thanks sooo much

Applications from non visa-exempt countries being processed in offices in visa-exempt countries tend to take close to or longer than the posted processing time.

The MP can get a more detailed status report.

Perhaps order your GCMS notes, it may help to understand what's holding the application up.

Ok great everyone. Thanks so much.

I have never actually ordered GCMS notes but I believe this is the link:

Awesome thanks

Thanks for everyone's input. I made and appointment last Monday and sat with someone from the MPs office and she sent 2 emails. I hadn't heard back from her but yesterday we received and email from immigration for my husband to bring his passport and take his visa.
Thanks everyone for answering my questions.
And good luck to everyone still waiting.

What does MP exactly stand for? I assume it is someone who works for CIC and can help with questions. How do you find who your MP is and how do you get in contact with them to ask questions or sit down and talk with them?
