Hello Everyone, I am filing my first tax returns using Simple Tax for 2019 and seek advice on few things. I did soft landing in May 2016 , stayed for a week and returned back to my country. I came back to Canada in April-2019 for permanent settlement and before that i didn't have any ties with Canada. Please see below my questions;

1) On Income tax T1 form - Shall i put 2019 date of entry (10Apr19) as a date i became resident of resident of Canada for income tax purposes in 2019 ? or i shall put 2016 date when i did soft landing ?

2) Do i have to complete form T1135, Foreign income verification form if my assets are more then 100K at start of 2019 before my permanent landing? Its written that one dont need to submit for the year he / she became resident. Does this mean tax resident (in my case its 2019) or Canada resident (which based on my soft landing is 2016) ?

Thank you.
