My wife sponsored me and after first stage approval she dumped me, took all my money and vehicle. So now I have the work permit for 1 year that was given to me after 1st stage approval. She never cancelled the sponsorship application. So now I wanted to go to Saskatchewan and apply for my PR under Saskatchewan nominee program but they are telling me that I can't apply for PR twice at the same time because my sponsorship is still in process. So now they want me to call immigration Canada and ask them to cancel my sponsorship application but in that case immigration officer can cancel my work permit as well and ask me to leave country...

Can anyone please help me and tell me whether I can apply for PR anyhow in Canada and whether I have to cancel the sponsorship application? and if I do then what are the chances they will not cancel my work permit?

It is possible to have two PR applications going at the same time. There are no rules against it. Besides, a PNP nominee application is not a PR application. You could apply to be nominated and if you get your nomination, you can get a work permit without needing an LMO as long as you have found an employer.

You should however have told them that your wife left you and I do not know how much trouble you are in because you didn't. I suppose you can say you were hoping she would come back to you.

Thanks a lot for your reply, so as per your suggestion I should not contact immigration and ask them to cancel the old sponsorship application and in the mean time apply for my Saskatchewan Immigration Nominee program and once that is approved then apply for my new work permit as well as PR under nominee program?

You can try it but your deception about your wife leaving may come back to haunt you. If they ask you why you didn't cancel the sponsorship application when you knew your wife had left you and you say you had hoped she would come back to you, they will ask you why did you then apply under SINP.

Are you qualified to apply under SINP?

I did ask from few immigration consultants and they say that I am eligible under SINP... I have been in retail management for almost 8 months and they are saying that if i get an offer letter in retail management only in SK then I can apply under SINP....
