Hello,

I have recently got an ITA and I am currently in the process of preparing my documents and submit them during the 90 days given to me.

What I am thinking of is the following:

My brother is also in the pool but haven't got his ITA yet. How is it possible to give him the 15 additional points?

The CRS states the following:
"Brother or sister living in Canada who is a citizen or permanent resident of Canada"

Does this mean I have to be LIVING in Canada? Or is it enough to have the PR status to grant him the 15 points? AND, most importantly, when will I get my PR status? Is it after I do my landing?

Thank you!

I think (not 100% sure) that you get your PR Status upon receipt of Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) but your landing is necessary to complete the whole process...not sure

To answer your first question more confidently though, your brother can get 15 additional points, owing to you, ONLY after you officially get PR AND if you're living in Canada (so you the landing question is moot because you'll have to land to be living there. You have to be physically residing there for him to claim the points and, if he were to get an ITA, he'd have to provide evidence that you're living there (recent rental agreements and less-than-6-months-old utility bill with their Canadian address on them, etc.).

You can't give you brother 15 points at this time.

You must have PR status and be physically living in Canada to give him 15 points. You will get PR status after you officially land in Canada.
