I am an Associate Cost & Management Accountant ( ACMA) from the Institute of Cost & Management Accountants of Pakistan(ICMAP).
It is a three years professional program of cost & management accountancy after graduation ( 14 years of education).
My education profile is as under:
ACMA=3 years
B.Com =14 years
Total= 17 years.
Morover Higher Education Commision(HEC) of Pakistan recognizes ACMA as equivalent to M.Com (for academics purposes if ACMA want to do PHD/M-Phil this equivalency is granted).

Kindly advice what points would be granted to me
thanks & regards

IS ACMA a certificate? or does it have an apprenticeship of three years associated with it? If yes, then you will get 22 points.
You could try for 25 points stating that it is recognized as equivalent to a M.Comm. I think it might work because it is not the ACMA saying that but the Higher Education Commission which I presume is associated with the ministry of education. Do you need the extra points to get to 67?

Thanks for your quick reply.
ACMA is not just a certfication it is a 3-years post graduation professional qualification. Having passed all the exams of ICMAP and having three years accounts experience associate membership is granted.
I am securing 55 points (on all relevent factors without education) now to qualify i need 22 points in Education. I am little bit confused as some people say you would get 22 or more points based on 17 years of education. On the contrary other thinks that I have only one Universit degree at my credit B.Com ( 14 years) so I would be granted 20 points.
I am wondering If I would be given 20 points than what is the benefits of 3 years education after graduation. If they don't consider it than it is really illogical. I just want to be certain about this to make my move.
Pls help.

Well you definitely get at least 20 points based on 14 years of education AND a degree.

Not all education is recognized by CIC, so there might not be any benefit of 3 years of education after graduation for CIC purpose and only for the purpose of you working as an accountant in your country.

Since you have 17 years of education, this is what you need to figure out:

- will CIC recognize your ACMA as equivalent to a MCom. If yes, then you will get 25 points.
- If they do not recognize it as equivalent to a masters, is it an apprenticeship. If yes, then you will get 22 points. From what you wrote, it doesn't sound like an apprenticeship.
- If all else fails, you will definitely get the 20 points for your degree jointly with at least 14 years of education.

As per your above statement you are already securing 55 points without education factor then you just need 12 points in education not 22 for achieving the 67.

If you have an equivalency from HEC so just attach this with your ACMA certificate and submit to CHC Islamabd when required, they will definitely get confirm form HEC Islamabad, I am not an expert but I am sure they will give you 25 points.

Waiting for others seniors reply as well
