10 years as manager but supervisor only included in the list

Hi everyone, need help here. Been working in the coating industry for 16 years now and currently holding position as manager and up. In the 38 hot list I could qualify under 9212 for supervisor in in the coating industry. I had very wide knowledge in this industry but the last 10 years I been working already as manager. Can I simply apply as supervisor. what would be my chance. Thanks

Check the description of 9212 at http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC-CNP/app/quicksearch.aspx?lc=e&searchkey=9212 It is more important that the description fits your job than the title.

Thanks leon, It does fit my job, I'm a chemist by profession that it is not on the list but as coating chemist I fit to 9212 which involved in the chemical processing as supervisor for coating. Hope it will work fine to apply as noc 9212. Will they question my profession since I'm a BS Chemistry graduate?

Does it say that the job requires a certain degree? I did not apply in the same field my degree is in but since my occupation at the time was not regulated, it did not matter.

Thanks again leon, it does not require a degree course when I check it, but in the application I must place the degree I had finished so I'm just thingking if it will make any conflict to 9212 since my profession also falls to 2112 as chemist. You are right that what matters is it should fit to my job not the title. I just hope they won't question my proffesion which is not on the list.

If that is the job you are doing and the job duties match, you should be fine.
