Hi

I am a student here and got married when my husband was here as visitor. After getting our marriage certificate we went on Canada us border to apply for open work permit.

But there while varifying our marriage they checked our location. As our location was same so they didn't pointed out anything on our marriage. But as my husband use to go to his brother's company to help him out, they found that location and pointed out that he is working while being on visitor Visa and he cannot work in Canada as a visitor.

As we were not able to satisfy them, while saying that it's just a mistake they banned my husband for one year. And said. That he can apply after 6 months but cannot enter Canada for one year.

My question is that we are already done with 6 months. Now I want to apply for my husband's open work permit.
What should I do? What docs will be required ?that he could get back to me , as I am left with my one year study yet.

Thank you

Your husband received two separate bans for working illegally. The first was a six month ban from applying for an open work permit. The second was a 1 year exclusion order. There's no point applying for the open work permit until you are much closer to the end of the 1 year exclusion order. It's going to be at least another six months before he is allowed back into Canada. If you insist on applying now, you will need to post your question in the International Students forum rather than here.

How dis they check your-location ? Did they go through your phone.
My husband faced similar situation today and he is banned for 6 months to apply for permit although he can continue to stay here on his visitor visa
