Hi guys,

My husband (Canadian citizen) and I are working on submitting our documents for my PR status in Canada. OUTLAND application. I am originally from Fourcés, Midi-Pyrénées (France).

My husband is originally French but gained Canadian citizenship when his French parents emigrated from France to Canada in the 90s. Once his parents received Candian citizenship, he gained it also. My husband was a child at the time.

We were going to submit everything this week. However, my pregnancy test just came back positive. I am probably about two weeks in so far, so 8.5 months to go!

This would be our very first child.

My understanding is that the PR process usually takes a year or so if there are no delays.

Should I expect delays?

How much longer could my pregnancy delay our application?

Why would your pregnancy cause any delays?

Assuming the father was either born in or naturalized in Canada the baby will be a Canadian citizen and all you would have to do is apply for their passport before travelling.

As part of the process you will need a medical exam which includes an x-ray. If you choose not to have the x-ray right away, that would delay things. If you search threads here you will see the subject come up.
