PR Card Renewal - 2026 August

Sharing my timeline:
August 8, 2026 - submitted online for family of 3
September 11 - status 20 in Json

I live in Vancouver. Do you guys know how long before I receive the card via Canada Post?

Congrats for that.

Usually in a weeks time they will post the cards. I would say by/before 25th of September..

Hlo all ,I applied Pr card for renewal though online PR portal on August 11,2026 and submitted also on Aug.11,2026 but nothing received in post and nothing showing in online portal .no email yet .almost around 30 days today submitted application online any information pls?

Hi everyone, I applied for my PR card renewal on August 10, 2026. My main PR Portal still shows Submitted, but today the backend JSON changed from Ready for Review (status 16) to Completed (status 20). At the same time, a rejection reason appeared saying: “PHOTOS ARE POOR IMAGE QUALITY.”
Has anyone had the same situation where the JSON showed Completed with a rejection reason, while the main portal still showed Submitted? Did IRCC later ask you to upload a new photo, return the application, or was the card still approved?
I need to travel soon, so I’m worried about losing more time. Should I wait for IRCC to officially request a new photo, or is it better to send a new compliant photo through the IRCC web form beforehand?
If anyone had to replace a photo, how long did it take after submitting the new photo for the application to move again?

There have been many discussions regarding the use of the JSON hack.


I would suggest you send new photos via a web form ASAP, since it can't do any harm.

Waiting for a rejection letter/notice from IRCC asking for new photos, will not expedite anything, save for your anxiety regarding your impending need for the renewed PR card.

You are fine!
These JSON messages trigger every now and then. If they truly had an issue a formal email with open portal would have welcomed you. JSON is not an approved channel or portal to gauge the IRCC queries. No need to send any thing, BECAUSE, your status would have changed to something else but not 20, if they truly had any issue with your photo.

I totally stand with every word I am writing here.

Expect to receive your card before Sep 30 (this is very optimistic experienced base claim).

Sharing my timeline:

• Current status: 16 in JSON.
• Location: Burlington, Ontario.

I called IRCC today to check the status of my application. The officer mentioned that they are still completing applications submitted in July.

My question is: Have they actually started processing August applications yet, or are they still working through the July applications?
