Permanent Residence – Protected Person / Dependent Child in Quebec
August 2023: My parents made an asylum claim in Canada and included me as a dependent child. I was 20 years old at the time.
February 2025: My parents’ refugee claim was accepted, and they were granted protected person status.
March 26, 2025: My CSQ application was submitted to Quebec (MIFI).
March 27, 2025: My parents submitted their permanent residence application to IRCC, including me as a dependent child living outside Canada.
October 3, 2025: IRCC requested Additional Family Information (IMM 5406).
October 8, 2025: The completed IMM 5406 was submitted to IRCC.
January 15, 2026: IRCC sent me a letter directly confirming that I was included as a family member in my parents’ permanent residence application.
January 26, 2026: I submitted all the documents requested by IRCC.
July 3, 2026: I received the Biometric Instruction Letter (BIL) and Medical Examination Instructions.
July 7, 2026: Biometrics completed.
July 9, 2026: Medical examination completed.
July 10, 2026: Medical results were submitted to IRCC.
Since July 2026: No further updates.
