Why do they really ask for all passport pages, and interviews after passing the citizenship test? Do they ask everyone who applied for citizenship or just those they suspect have travelled outside Canada?

hey I was asked to send passport scans by email too. How long did it take them to respond back to you or update application status after you sent them your docs?
