I am a Malaysian citizen and applied for a Canadian Temporary Resident Visa to accompany my sister to Toronto while she attended a conference from 27-30 August 2026.
I submitted:
26+ years of employment with leading telco in Malaysia
Senior management position
Approved leave from employer
Significant EPF savings
Significant bank balances
Confirmed return flight ticket
8-day itinerary
Evidence of my sister's conference invitation and visa approval
My application was refused under IRPR 179(b). The officer notes stated:
Insufficient travel history
Purpose of visit does not appear reasonable in the context of the information provided
I submitted a reconsideration request with additional supporting documents, but the Singapore visa office replied that the decision remains unchanged.
I am now planning to request GCMS notes. Has anyone experienced a similar refusal despite having strong employment and financial ties? Any advice would be appreciated.
