Typically how soon can we expect for oath after LPP complete? I am In Vancouver office and have selected virtual oath. I heard that virtual oath is faster than in-person?

Thank you and glad to share that I have Oath portal update today, scheduled for 8/25. In my application, I selected virtual ceremony. How do I confirm if it is still virtual as requested? I heard that sometimes IRCC just arrange an in-person ceremony, although a virtual was originally requested.

As far as I remember, when submitting the application, they only asks us about the type of the Certificate, not the ceremony. I had originally selected E-certificate, and now I am invited to in in-person ceremony. So I don't think they're related.

My impression is that virtual ceremony vs in-person was asked, besides the type of certificate. Is the email the only way of confirming the type of ceremony? Call IRCC?

Ceremony date appeared in the tracker today. I'm from Vancouver and my full timeline below. Good luck everyone.

• GCMS notes showed: routine file review, everything clean, physical presence verified no concerns, referred to PM03 senior officer review at Vancouver Citizenship

• Interview invitation email: June 9, 2026 (same day as ghost update!)
• Virtual interview: July 15, 2026 (~10 mins, document verification, travel history questions)
• LPP green: July 17, 2026
• Oath ceremony date appeared in tracker: July 23, 2026 (no email yet)

Ditto, Oath date appeared in portal today for 8/25. It's gonna be virtual. During the interview the officer said that I need to be in Canada for oath even tho its going to be virtual.

The email is usually sent two weeks before the oath date, and you'll get to know from the email if your ceremony is in person or virtual.
