Received a letter for additional materials request from IRCC Vancouver this afternoon. Asking for my US CBP Entry / Exit History. Sent over already and fingers crossed!
Busy day today. After sending over the requested materials, an interview invite was received through email. It will be a virtual interview. Question: is it required to be physically in Canada for the virtual interview?

Hi everyone,

I applied for Canadian citizenship in August 2025 and received my AOR in October 2025. My background verification was completed shortly after AOR, but I still have not received a citizenship test invitation.

According to my GCMS notes, my file was referred to PS-RES (Program Support – Residence Review) for a physical presence review. Since then, there has been very little movement on my application.

Current status:

  • Application submitted: August 2025
  • AOR: October 2025
  • Background verification: Completed
  • Citizenship test: Not started
  • Physical Presence: In progress
  • Language: In progress
  • Prohibitions: In progress
It has now been about 8 months since AOR, and I am seeing many applicants from the same period who have already completed their tests or even received oath invitations.

Has anyone else had a PS-RES referral and experienced a long wait for a test invitation?

If so:

  • How long did it take before you received your test invite?
  • Did IRCC request any additional documents?
  • Are there any August–October 2025 applicants still waiting for a test?
I would really appreciate hearing from anyone with a similar timeline. Thank you.

Wow, that is so long! Did you try calling them? What did they say?

I am exactly in the same boat, same dates no test invitation, called them yesterday, only thing I can just do is to wait.

Was asked regarding my address history, and then what I was doing since arriving in the country. So I just explained my moves and my job situation, same thing with my wife. Also had to explain why I was outside of the country at the time of interview. After that, the agent confirmed that he will mark our LPP as passed and then send our case to the scheduling officer for the oath. It was a pretty quick interview, under 15min total
How did he know that you were outside of Canada during the interview? Did he directly ask, or your voluntarily disclosed in the first place?

I disclosed it first after explaining my address history. But the officer already knew that I was outside of the country with the exact date of my departure and the name of airport I departed from, which he confirmed with me after my disclosure
