Parents Visa ending, Can’t go back due to war, No Flights allowed into the country.

Good day to all of you,

My mother came from Iran to visit us in Canada in December 2025. Her return ticket was for May 2026.

However, due to the ongoing war, there are no flights allowed in or out of Iran.

What are our options?

Apply for a visa extension?

Any advice is much appreciated

Apply for visitor record.

Would apply for the visitor record closer to the end of her 6 month visit if she was awarded an up to 6 month visit or right before her scheduled flight. You should include any information you are being given by the airline about the status of flights going into Iran and what is the airline’s plan going forward for people trying to fly back to Iran. Since the situation is always evolving better to not apply for the visitor record too early.

Basically what was suggested….to apply for a visitor record which an extension of the visitor permit and mention the reason being the current war and inability to fly back as airspaces are closed and no flights allowed in.
