I have previously applied for study permit with employment history, now for ITA I do not intend to claim points for Foreign work experience, will that be okay? I will certainly show it in personal history. WIll there be an issue of misinterpretation?

No, that'll not be an issue as long as it is shown in the personal history.

Thank you for a quick response.
There is also one minor issue of unauthorized work, which I am realizing now when I am looking at the timeline. Could it cuase an issue? I do not intend to claim CRS point for this work.
  • Held a valid co-op/closed work permit until August 30, 2024 and re-entered Canada prior to its expiry.
  • A work permit application was submitted on July 13, 2024.
  • Departed Canada on July 15, 2024 and re-entered in August 2024.
  • Commenced employment on September 5, 2024 with Another employer.
  • A new work permit was issued in February 2025.
Can it cause issue in my PR application? I am dependent spouse.

Sorry, I'm not in a state of mind to calculate (in-between other activities) - it reads as if you were working without a valid permit between Sep 5, 2024 -> Feb 2025? I'd say that's not a "minor issue". If you worked, the govt already knows.

I see, any suggestions or advise? I just got to know this unauthorized work of mine in last week, and apparently I do not intend to hide it in my PR application. Though I will not claim points, I will certainly put it in personal history information.
Your help is much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

You'll not only have to disclose it in your personal history, but also you'll have to add an LoE here. It will be upto an officer to decide what to do next here. You should get an immigration lawyer now.

Hello,

I am also in a similar situation, I was applying for a LMIA since my PGWP was about to expire, but then due to the unexpected new ownership of the store, my first LMIA was closed. The officer told us that I had to reapply for a new LMIA, so my permit expired, tried to extend it but ofc it got refused. I applied for restoration right away, tho I was still working.

Now after a few months, I did get the positive LMIA letter and my permit was eventually approved.

I am now applying for my PR, no dependents or anything. So, the time I worked without the permit, I was told by my consultant that we will not be claiming points for it. Tho he strongly suggest that I don’t even disclose it on my personal history. I raised my concerns about the risk of misrepresentation but he still wouldn’t advise it. What should I do? Thank you so much in advance.
