My PR file (2 years old) was confirmed Approved by my MP 2 weeks ago. Still, I haven't received the Portal 1 email.

Today, my MP followed up and the IRCC said they have now Escalated my case to a higher level because of the delay.

1. How long after an MP Escalation did you receive your P1?

2. Is this a common technical glitch?

Location: Nanaimo, BC. Thanks!

There isn’t a delay. You saw that your application has been approved through internal documentation that you aren’t really supposed to see it is for IRCC. You are in line for landing which is completed normal. There isn’t anything that needs escalating. This is the normal process. Things don’t happen immediately you are in a queue for landing just like others whose applications have been approved.

Approval does not mean the P1 email is sent right away. Once a file is approved, it goes into a landing queue, and waits of a few weeks are normal. MP escalation usually does not speed things up unless something is truly stuck.

This is not a technical glitch in most cases, just standard processing. You should receive P1 once your turn comes, so there is nothing you really need to do right now except monitor your email (including spam).

When an MP contacts IRCC, they usually receive a response from a senior officer or case management unit.
If IRCC said your case has been “escalated to a higher level,” that generally means, your application is approved or It is waiting for final portal processing or someone needs to manually trigger the PR Confirmation Portal email, that escalation often moves things faster but it’s not instant. Most people in this situation receive P1 within 1–3 weeks after escalation.
Once you receive your P1, please update the community about your situation.

Thank you sonmuch

Thank you! I received my P1 on February 19th. On the tracking, I saw they updated my case daily: on the first day they deleted my expired Coper, on the second day they renewed my Medical Exam (which had also expired), on the third day I saw my Coper number and expiration date extended to October 2026, and then I received my P1. I replied to the email that same evening and am waiting for P2. I will update you when I have more information.
