PR Card Renewal applications Jan/Feb 2026

Starting this thread. I submitted my PR card renewal application on January 24, 2026 and was able to link it after about a week in GCKey. Until now, there has been no update. The status still shows "Submitted." Anyone applied same dates. please share your updates. Thanks

Very common for there to be no communication or updates and then the new card just shows up in your mailbox.

Yes, I am aware of this from other forums. I just wanted to know if others applied around the same time so we can estimate the processing times. The current processing time is 30 days. I called IRCC, and the agent read the same information that appears in my GCKey: ‘We are reviewing your eligibility.

I submitted my PR card renewal on Jan 6th 2026, stuck outside the country (and its through an urgent request, provided proof). Its been 50 days now. Any way to know when it might get dispatched and arrive? They've been very opaque with updates.

There is no set timeline. Were you very close to the 730 days when you applied? Do you have frequent travel outside Canada?

Well, standard processing times are often 2–3+ months, also status may remain “Submitted” until an officer actually starts reviewing it and many applicants report no update until they suddenly see “In Process” or receive approval.

Gc key account status updated and now says: Final Decesion, date, Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made....... . So what kind of update it is starting with Final Decesion but status is same, Your application is in progress.........

Many applicants reported already no update for 1–3 months.Status jumping directly from “Submitted” to “Approved.”, Ghost updates (visible change).
