Hey guys just joining the thread, my tracker shows LPP completed since December 4th and no updates yet
After experiencing both US and Canadian immigration, IRCC is right up there with one of the worst systems. My GCMS notes say they noticed discrepancies in my absences. I’ve only been out of the country twice, and both trips were for a few weeks at a time with no same day trips.August? Many October applicants have already got their oath dates.
And then there are people that applied in April still waiting for LPP (completely in IRCCs control).
We need/deserve a better system.
That's why a lot of people would recommend a buffer of at least 5-10 days before application, since we are not sure how they would compute and verify the physical presence from their end. After experiencing both US and Canadian immigration, IRCC is right up there with one of the worst systems. I can see in the notes that they pulled my entry and exit records, and the dates I provided in my application exactly match what they retrieved. Yet they still overrode the number of days I was outside the country for those two trips, bringing my total physical presence down to exactly 1095 days.
On top of that, their PDF physical presence calculator doesn’t match the application calculator, and neither of them matches what they have in their backend system.
I called IRCC this morning and actually got my ATIP notes today too (requested them Jan 29th). The agent was pretty vague since they mostly see what’s on the tracker along with other details like office processing the application, etc., but the GCMS notes had a lot of info. I basically just asked them to help me read it.That's exactly what they told me today when I called. That I still had 5 months and to be patient. How am I supposed to be patient when there are people in August who have already finished the process? I have plans to travel out of the country to visit my family, but I can't even book anything because I don't know when they will schedule me for the ceremony! I am also waiting since January 8th, but I am in Alberta.
Call center staff are low IQ, dont bother wasting your time with them.I called IRCC this morning and actually got my ATIP notes today too (requested them Jan 29th). Turns out citizenship was already granted. I’m just on the waiting list for the oath now. The weird part is that Vancouver processed my file, but they sent it to the Surrey office for the ceremony. I don't even live in Surrey, so I'm not sure why, but I guess it is what it is.
The agent said scheduling depends entirely on the local office's slots. I’ve got a trip booked for next month that I might have to push back, but I’m still hoping for a lucky update. Honestly, I’m not feeling super optimistic because I haven’t seen any Surrey oath dates lately, mostly just Vancouver.
I wouldnt call them low IQ. They were actually helpful explaining stuff, but I think they dont have access to all of the info we can see on our GCMS notes.Call center staff are low IQ, dont bother wasting your time with them.
Where are you located? Also when was your LPP completed?
I noticed that as well. I had 1099 days per the Calculator. I also verified my days with other AI tools. Before I submitted my application, I got the CBSA notes and made sure the entry/exit CBSA had on file matched what was in my application. However, per IRCC GCMS notes I had only 1097 days based on whatever new calculation they used. So yeah they are doing something wrong. After experiencing both US and Canadian immigration, IRCC is right up there with one of the worst systems. Burnaby. LPP Dec 18.
When did your tracker show Test Completed and how long did you have to wait to receive the interview date? Did you see updates before or after the Application due date that's mentioned in page 3 of GCMS notes?I noticed that as well. I had 1099 days per the Calculator. When I called IRCC, the call center agent told me my processing office was Ottawa. I asked a second time and he confirmed. I received my GCMS notes a couple of days later. My processing office is and always was Vancouver, never Ottawa. The event office was Ottawa. If some of them can't even get this right, either they are incompetent or they just don't care.
My tracker now says I have been scheduled for an interview on the 18th. That's still better than radio silence.
All of that info is in my signature. My tracker updated today saying "We’ve scheduled you for an interview with our official on February 18, 2026."When did your tracker show Test Completed and how long did you have to wait to receive the interview date? I've noticed that as well. My primary office has always been Vancouver, secondary Sydney. But deep in my GCMS notes, the office that actually issued my test invite was Edmonton, and now for the oath ceremoney its Surrey. So, kinda like a gong show lol. When I called IRCC, the call center agent told me my processing office was Ottawa. I asked a second time and he confirmed.
