Hello All,

Thank you in advance for reading through my case and providing your input/suggestions.

I am planning to apply in CEC category. My case is as follows -My PGWP was to expire on June 29, 2025, and I applied for extension on June 27th, 2025. My extension got rejected on Dec 16th, 2025. In this time period, I continued working at my job of the time, as I was eligible to work under implied status. My question is, will these 5 months count towards my Canadian experience when applying for CEC?

I haven't done this before and am in need of guidance. I did what I was told by my immigration consultant. As his advice no longer deemed suitable, I am trying out other options like this platform to get more suggestions. I have been here, studying and making a respectable career path for me for the past 4.5 years and would appreciate some helpful guidance that can help my cause.

So you put in a fake extension ?
Let’s call a spade a spade
Sure, though it doesn't really matter what it's called, generally the advice on this forum is to listen to your lawyer.

So since the extra work experience will be counted, it seems to me like this was good advice? I am guessing that this got you to whatever minimum amount of experience you needed to qualify for PR?
As his advice no longer deemed suitable,
Curious as to why. Not an accusation or anything, just wondering if there's more to the story - we might be able to point out any warning signs and the story might help someone else in a similar situation in the future.
