Good to know I'm not the only April applicant left out..I really appreciate your and everyone else's replies .Goodluck

Hi everyone, Since July I did not get any update and it is really frustrating. I just called IRCC and they said Background verification is still in progress, and everything else is not yet started. Anyone in the same situation? Or am I the only one stuck here?

I have a ghost update around August (which corresponds to when I answered my FP request). Otherwise we're in the same boat - last official update was July for me as well.

Alas I have too many ties to that terrible country down south, so I expect my process to have been delayed significantly by the shutdown that happened there. (I did notice that this thread starting picking up with good news around October, shortly after the shutdown started - so really bad timing for me!)

You are not alone. Struck on Background & Prohibition.

My last update was June. All of us are stuck somewhere. Really hope things speed up for all.

I got IRCC GCMS Notes today. On the tracker everything is in Progress except Test.

GCMS Notes says:
Location: Grant Review Ready PM01
Primary Office: Vancouver
Language: Not Started
Residence: Not Started
Prohibition: Not Started
Criminality: Passed

This was requested on 10 Nov.

God knows where is this stuck! Praying for the best.

Do you have dependants ? Mine had delays because of fingerprints of my youngest son, once they received it, all turned to green.

I received my oath in person ceremony for Dec 12th and understand that we have to hand over our PR cards at the ceremony. However, I am traveling on Dec 14th. Can anyone tell me what document I can use to re-enter Canada when I return? Thanks

No, Single applicant. They have received my fingerprint already.
I don't recall if someone has already answered this, but: has any applicant who was requested fingerprints gotten to LPP complete yet?

It's frustrating for me. I got FP almost certainly simply for having a super common name and a clean background. (Perhaps I was also just picked at random?) But it seems like if you get FP it may delay things compared to applicants who didn't need to submit FP...

Most cases the FP request does not delay things much. For some, yes - but they're probably in group that would have had security other issues anyway.

They asked during Oath if I was travelling any time soon? "I said no".
They made it clear that you should NOT be travelling out of Canada until passport received as you cannot re enter without one.
Made the point very clear and then I cut up my PR card into 4 parts. Received my passport 2 weeks later.
Hope that helps?!

Except for US citizens, US green card holders, and the like (for which this is really easy), this is really hard to do....

According to https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...l-canadian-citizens-visit-canada.html#findOut it may be possible to apply for a "special authorization" to get an eTA on your old country passport.

This is sound advice.

Hypothetically though, since we're getting the citizenship e-certificate downloaded from the web portal, couldn't OP leave anyways (on old country passport) and then apply at the nearest Canadian embassy or consulate abroad with the e-cert and other docs? Then after picking up the passport from the embassy, use that to travel back?

Or, apply for a passport the same day/day after getting the e-certificate and then leave, but make sure the address goes to a trusted friend or family member. When the passport arrives in the mail, then have it FedEx'd over.

Wanna caution that I'm not suggesting that OP do this - I was just asking a hypothetical.
