Need help -Spouse work permit protected person

did your spouse get his open work permit through you as a refugee claimant or though another stream?
when does his work permit expire?
what visa is he on and is that close to expiry?
did you get married after you applied for PR?
Would add when did you get married? IRCC is aware there is an increase level of marriage for immigration purposes happening as Canada tries to decrease PR quotas and temporary residents and are looking more carefully at cases when people are getting married close to the end of their WPs, to other temporary without a good chance of PR or people without status.
I would call IRCC to see what they recommend you do first, second and third.
Your spouses work permit expiry date is very important- i think they should not let it expire before applying for a renewal. I think this should be the priority.
My recommendation would also be to add your spouse to your PR as soon as possible and submit all the necessary docs.

The timing is likely to raise some concerns so hopefully you significant proof of your relationship, wedding was attended by family, etc. Agree that you need to add your spouse to your PR application before they can attempt to get a WP.
