Hi, Question, my husband is a mexican agri worker, working every year for only 6 mos - seasonal for about 14yrs now, we are married for 2yrs now, and i am a resident of canada, we are planning to visit some places here, but unfortunately as he is a seasonal worker, he works everyday at the farm and no time to go out with me, so next yr we are planning that he will be not going as a worker here so we can have time and travel in here, is there a big chance of him being approve? i am just a bit worried because of whats happening in the immigration right now.

Where does your spouse currently live? What is your status? Does he live with you when he is Canada during farm work? Why did you not sponsor him already?

He currently lives in Mexico. I am a PR. No he lives in the farm, it is part of the contract for agri farmer to stay in the farm, they provide houses for their workers. I can't sponsor him since I was sponsored before. I still have 1 year to sponsor him..

So are you suggesting he come to Canada as a visitor? His work history is primarily in Canada and having known some of these workers their primary income for the year is from Canada and many don’t have longterm employment in their home country so no tie to return to. Getting a visa to visit his spouse in Canada without a sponsorship application in process may be extremely difficult. This is an extremely unusual cases where you have been married for an extended period of time yet never lived together. You also got married only 2 years after being sponsored yourself. There are a lot of red flags for IRCC. Have you traveled to Mexico frequently?

Yes, i do travel in mexico every year to be with him. And i am with him on the weekends here in Canada. He has his own farm business in Mexico as well, he just really wanted to focus on doing the farming business in Mexico rather than staying here only for 4mos working.
