Hello Everyone,

I am back on this forum after a very long sabbatical as I find myself navigating a brand new immigration application - this time for my spouse! Creating this new thread for tracking progress and updates related to September 2025 Outland Spousal Sponsorship applications.

Cheers and good luck to all!

Hello All,

I'm planning to apply for my spousal sponsorship application. To start with I am bit confused whether the PA and Sponsor documents should be uploaded from one account or they both need separate accounts. Watching multiple videos and lot of confusion. Please throw some light on this, your help will be very much appreciated!

Hello, yes the process can be very overwhelming but you got this!

The PA has to create an account on the PR portal and both PA as well as Sponsor will upload their documents through this account.

The way I did it -
1. Created an account for PA
2. Filled out all forms as PA, as Sponsor
3. Uploaded all documents as PA, as Sponsor
4. Submitted application

Everything in the same PA account. Hope this helps!

On YouTube, Hit Submit & Canada and Canada Dreamers are two channels that were of great help to me, as a starting point. God bless them!

Thank you for the information. I'm following these Youtube channels, however some others and few website suggests to create two different accounts. Thank you for help!

I’m not sure which place says that but create an account for the PA but both you and the PA can access and control it. If you’re signing on to be a representative, even better as one person can be the point of contact to manage the application.

For that we need to submit IMM5476 (Use of representative Form)?
Yes, correct.

In my case, this is also because we have added my Canadian residential address as the primary communication address for PA so when this is mentioned, it is mandatory to include the Use of Rep 5476 form. This is so that any communication if needed, is quicker to communicate from Canada rather than India but most of the times any and all communication will be done via PA’s email on file so yeah.
