Hi everyone, how do I enter previous visa dates (US) correctly?

Would it be January 1 to January 31, and then the next visa from Feb 1 to Feb 10, or January 1 to Feb 1, and then Feb 1 to Feb 10?

I think I remember from my PR application that there shouldn’t be any gaps..

What visa type is this? If it's a tourist visa, you don't even need to put it in the citizenship application, especially since we're talking here about 40 days or so, regardless of how you split them up.
Also, the answer to your original question, if you still want to list your US visa, is : doesn't matter. IRCC doesn't really care, put them any way you want.

Thanks! I did a change of status from J1 to F1, and basically my J1 status ended but I was allowed to stay because I filed for a change if status before the J1 expired so the start date of the F1 might be off by a few days?

And the days I mentioned are just examples, I just need to know whether they should overlap or one ends on the 31st and the next one starts on the 1st.

Student visas are indeed needed, so disregard part of my above message
But same answer as above : it doesn't really matter for IRCC. Both "same day" and "successive days" are fine. Pick one, if the system allows it and doesn't throw you an error, stick to it, else go with the other.
