Hi, congratulations on your long waited accomplishment. did you receive any correspondence after eligibility letter, i.e. police clearance etc. or it was straight final decision after the eligibility. I am wondering at what stage do they ask for police clearance from another country of residence if required.

Thanks. No they didn't ask for anything. I guess they only do if you have lived 6 months or more in another country other than your home country.
For example if you traveled to Europe and stayed there for more than 6 months then they will ask for police certificate.

Correct, I was living in the EU before my application for about a year and they asked for the police clearance from that country right before the eligibility

At least 300,000 protected person are waiting for PR who are already in the pool and have applied. IRCC’s target quota for this category is around 20, 18, 16 k per year. At this rate, it would take about 15 years to clear the backlog. hahahha

I am with you I applied 26 Feb 2023 no even p1

U should get ur GCMS notes, depends on which country u originally from, and u will get that from contacting mp or getting GCMS notes, it might stucked with security clearance means takes little longer, u would be fine but knowing before would be less worrying.

Hi folks, I am an April 2023 applicant, and I'm still waiting for my P1. My husband could have applied for sponsorship for me after we got married in May 2024, but I didn't want him to since I had already applied as a protected person and the estimated processing time wasn't that long. It has been almost 30 months since I applied for permanent residency. Do you think a spousal sponsorship application would be faster if I apply now ? (It looks like around 30 months processing time in IRCC’s website for spousal sponsorship)
