Hi,

Posting on behalf of a friend who applied for PR under the Agri-food pilot program. His eligibility got completed in December '24. After that however, there has been no update.

My friend is currently facing 2 issues:

He arrived in Canada in May '23 on a 2 year closed work permit. However, he later found out both his work visa and permit expired in March '25. So he has unknowingly worked for 2 months and received paychecks with taxes being deducted. He however stopped working the moment he found out of his situation.

He has currently applied for a BOWP through his immigration lawyer who has explained his situation, however this is 2 months after the work permit expired, but within 90 days.

His concerns are:

1) Will he receive the BOWP which will allow him to resume working under former employer who has promised him his job back.
2) Will the fact that he worked for 2 months impact his PR application?

any input is welcome, Thanks!
