Hi I have a question

My original study permit expires on June 22, 2025. I applied for a study permit extension on March 27, 2025. I will graduate and complet my studies on June 20, 2025 and apply for my PGWP on June 20, 2025. My study permit extension is yet to be approved. Can I still work full time when apply for my PGWP? While am waiting for my study permit extension to be approved or should I cancel the study permit extension application when I apply for my PGWP on the 20th?

Hi everyone,

I’m extending my PGWP by paper and would love concrete feedback.

Quick timeline:

  • July 8, 2025: paper package delivered to IRCC.
  • Since then: file shows “awaiting completeness check” (I have a temporary file number).
  • I realized after mailing that:
    • the IMM5710 “Signature” page wasn’t signed in pen (I typed my full name and the date on the computer),
    • the checklist wasn’t in the first envelope (I sent it separately the same day).

  • Current work permit expiry: August 26, 2025.
  • Saturday, August 23: I plan to send one PDF via the IRCC Web form containing:
    • the IMM5710 signature page signed and dated by hand,
    • the checklist,
    • proof of both deliveries,
    • a short note (with UCI + temporary file number).

Questions:

  1. Has anyone had a return solely for a non-handwritten signature on IMM5710 (paper)?
  2. Has sending a hand-signed page + checklist via the IRCC Web form ever prevented a return for you (even though completeness is mostly based on the scanned paper package)?
  3. Timelines you experienced: how long did your paper application stay “awaiting completeness” before AOR/ADR/return?
  4. If you got a return after expiry, how did you handle things with your employer (pause, leave, resuming after restoration)?

Context: I filed before expiry; if there’s no return by Aug 26, I’ll be on maintained status. Mainly looking for real cases to adjust and stay sane.
