Where did you apply from? What is citizenship? File has not been opened by an officer.
I applied from Nigeria, Citizenship also Nigeria … how long more can it take to get approved? My biometric was updated Aug 8
I submitted my study visa application on 25th July and completed my biometrics on 28th July.
The current processing time for my country (India) is 3 weeks, which will be completed by this Friday.
So far, I’ve only received an update confirming that my biometrics were received. There’s been no progress showing under other sections such as background check or medical.
My classes are set to start on 5th September, and I’m wondering if I’m likely to receive my visa in time.
Is anyone else facing a similar situation or experiencing delays?

Processing can take months from Nigeria. Would suggest discussing deferring admission with your school if you planned on staying this fall.

It's hard to say, you can check your status from tracker, if you find background verification has been updated to in progress, maybe you need to wait for a longer time.
I got a response to my web form inquiry today and it reads thus;

In response to your email enquiry below, kindly note that this application is still under active review by our office. At the moment, we are not in a position to give a clear indication of when we anticipate finalizing this application.
However, we wish to inform you that our office is doing the necessary to ensure that this application is processed and finalised within the shortest timeframe possible.
