Hello All,

AOR Received: Oct 31 2024
Background Complete: Nov 1 2024
Citizenship Test Complete: Nov 15 2024
Language Test Complete: Dec 19 2024
Physical Presence and Prohibitions: In Progress
Interview Completed: May 22 2025

This is in Scarborough office. Interview was called because I had an error with the dates that she wanted to verify. This was for my Non-Permanent Residency dates (NPR) which was also verified via the GCMS notes that I got (said NPR pending verification). Anyway the interview was in Scarborough office and lasted for 5min. Officer verified my date stamps and mentioned that everything looks good. She will make the correction on her end. Even wrote NPR verified on the paper.

I asked when I can expect an update and she mentioned it will later that week or early this week. She even spoke to me about the oath and how she will pass my profile to oath team for scheduling. Till now, no updates and I am honestly a bit frustrated and annoyed by this. The application has not been since and I am not sure why that's the case. There was no additional document or requirements asked apart from verified my NPR days which she did in front of me. I did notice that she was a bit disorganized on her end compared to the other officers who were around her.

Anyone with a similar experience? Every other forum does mention that they receive updates within the next 3-4 business days.
This is mentally and emotionally draining me.

Hey sorry to hear about your situation. I was wondering if you have had any updates to your application? I also have my Language skills completed, but physical and prohibition still pending. Haven't got an interview invite though.

The officer mentioned your profile would be passed to the oath team, and while 3-4 business days is typical for updates, sometimes internal processing takes longer. Give it a bit more time, and if there’s no update within a week, reach out to IRCC for clarification.

It's been 4 weeks now. I am not sure who to reach out to. Called IRCC and it's just the standard response that it's in progress.
I have tried reaching out to my MP. Not much of help to be honest.

I have also tried enquiring through the emails that I was communicated with. Radio silence. I was hoping to receive some reply atleast on that front. Nothing as of yet. Is this normal?

Most probably you'd be called for an interview as well. The pattern I have noticed it usually folks get there LPP cleared at the same time and receive oath update right away. Folks with just test and language cleared means they need some clarification on physical presence and get's called for interview. That's what I was called for.

Unfortunately 4 weeks and still no update.

That's unfortunate. You must be coming close to the 10 months processing time now? Hopefully it gets resolved soon. I got an interview invite for an in person interview in two weeks. Hopefully everything goes smooth.

I had my interview today, and they actually forgot about me . Interview was supposed to be at 815 but no one called my name until I had to ask them at like 930 when I was the only person left in the waiting area.

The lady that did my interview also seems a little disorganized. She said she will review my stuff tomorrow, but now I am worried she's gonna forget it.

Anyways any luck with your application?

Hi Lavenaa this exact instance happened to me as well. I was asked to get in on the 12PM interview. I was 15min early and then then they called my name at the very end when there was no one in the room except me. By the time I got out, it was already 3PM. It's been 2 months post interview and I still haven't received any update whatsoever. I even asked for ATIP and it's been 30 working days since it passed. This is becoming ridiculous.

Was this in Scarborough office?

Yea it was in the Scarborough office. I actually got an update three days after the interview with my oath scheduled for 15 August. Though the tracker still shows physical presence and prohibitions to still be in progress.

Was physical presence the only thing you had pending? Perhaps the officer didn't update the portal and something else is still pending? I am guess calling them also doesn't yield anything?

I have also requested GCMS notes before but never received it. IRCC could do a much better job communicating what it is they're working on on a candidate's file.

What was the context of your interview?

It was for physical presence. I applied with 1096 days. I had three trips before becoming PR that entered the wrong dates for, it didn't impact my physical presence days but that was what triggered the interview. All my travel dates since being PR was correct. I provided the interviewer with a new presence calculator print out with the correct pre-PR travel dates, and translation of non English/French stamps. The interviewer also took photocopies of my passport and just said that she will look through the stamps. I also had a lot of trips, 11 since being PR, so they also wanted to confirm all the dates were correct. I requested the CBSA travel reports, which I assumed the IRCC staff also had, and all the dates lined up to what I put in my application. So the only thing that was inaccurate was my pre-PR travel dates.

She asked some other routine questions like what I do for work, when/context of my initial entry into Canada. But the physical presence was the only thing, my background and language skills were completed well before the interview.

What was wrong with your NPR dates? I thought IRCC was verifying NPR statuses and dates even before sending the AOR (some people receive a notice saying IRCC cannot confirm their time in Canada before they became a PR).

Does it mean they didn't check if you had a valid status as a NPR, before sending the AOR?
