I understand this is a common question and yet I can't find a convincing answer to it. The question is:
If I applied for spouse sponsorship (or I guess any application) when the processing time was X months, and now the processing time for the SAME application is Y months. Which processing time should I worry about and start contacting IRCC after it passes? X or Y?

On IRCC website "
Your processing time starts the day we receive your complete application and ends when we make a decision. It may vary depending on how many applications we get or if your application is complex.
  • Don’t send a new application.
    • The longer you’ve been waiting, the closer you are to the front of the line.
  • We’ll contact you if we need more information.
    • You don’t need to do anything else. "
What if I send another application through another (relatively faster) program such as Express Entry? Will that delay both applications?

I would appreciate if someone working at the IRCC and passed by this post to give us a clear answer.

I apologize if this post was repeated somewhere else. Thank you in advance!

Current processing times apply to everyone. Processing times are not locked in at the time of submission.

If you submit a separate application under Express Entry, this is treated as a completely separate application.
